Wonder Dog University, a team of nationally certified, professional dog trainers who specialize in modern training techniques, has announced a date for its next AKC Trick Dog Workshop. The workshop, open to dog owners across the greater Charleston/Mt. Pleasant area, will take place on Sunday, April 2nd, 2023, and aims to teach pet dogs new tricks through the use of positive reinforcement and modern training methods while improving the dog’s focus, attention, and enthusiasm.
The two-hour training session focuses on four specific tricks: Spin, Kiss, Jump, and Paws Up. Participants will be given the opportunity to upload a video of themselves and their dogs performing these tricks for review by their instructor. Once participants have successfully completed 10 tricks, or 5 tricks and a Canine Good Citizens (CGC) title, they will be granted their American Kennel Club (ACK) Novice Trick Dog title.
"We had a lot of success with this workshop the first time around, so we're excited to bring it back," said C.C. Bourgeois, the Owner & Certified Professional Dog Trainer of Wonder Dog University. "Our focus on positive reinforcement training is key to developing a strong bond between dog and owner, and we think this workshop is a fun and effective way to do it."
The AKC Trick Dog Workshop is just one of many innovative training services offered by Wonder Dog University, which has been providing expert dog training services to the greater Charleston area since 2010. With a commitment to positive reinforcement training, the team at Wonder Dog University believes that building a strong bond between a dog and their owner is crucial to creating a happy and well-behaved pet.
