SumFoods, a Black woman-owned leading supplier of premium diabetic and keto-friendly foods, based in Georgia, today announced a partnership with the 21st largest grocery retailer in the U.S. with over $19.5 billion in annual sales. Starting this fall, SumFood's healthy sweeteners will soon be sold at over 258 stores under the brands SumSweet and SumSweet+.

"This will be SumFoods' first agreement with a major U.S. grocer and will help put us on track for rapid growth and distribution,” said TL Matthew, CEO of SumFoods.

SumSweet and SumSweet+ are natural zero-calorie sweeteners that can easily substitute for table sugar in food and beverage recipes. Unlike monk fruit, xylitol, and erythritol, SumSweet is made with allulose—an actual sugar that is chemically similar to table sugar but only 70% as sweet. SumSweet+ is a fusion of allulose and a proprietary blend of stevia extracts, providing a naturally pure sweetness similar to table sugar without sugar's negative health consequences. SumSweet and SumSweet+ also measure, brown, and caramelize just like sugar, making them easy to use for baking needs.

Added Matthew, "I was prediabetic and grew up in a diabetic family. I saw many of my loved ones lose their lives due to complications of diabetes brought on by a diet high in sugar and carbohydrates. It brings new great joy to bring a healthier alternative to sugar to market and help others in my community and beyond live longer and healthier lives."
